Guitar Lessons
Aspiring guitar players hear a song that they really wish they could play. I can teach you how to play that song! I can also teach you fundamentals that can help you figure almost ANY other song yourself.

Why Music is
Important

Music makes you a better person. Whether you are a musician or someone who simply enjoys listening, music touches your soul like no other art form.

It is a universal language that transcends barriers, whether they be cultural, economic, language-based, geographical, political, or racial. It’s intellectual. It’s kinesthetic. It’s rhythmic. Music improves right brain, left brain development, alleviates depression, improves math skills, and increases eye-hand coordination (motor skills).

But really, it’s just fun to make your soul sing. That’s all you need to know.

Making Music Accessible To All

Private Lessons

I’ll give you my full attention in one-on-one lessons, moving at a pace that’s comfortable for you. If you practice, you’ll see quick results and realize that private lessons are the best bang for your buck.

All Levels of Instruction
I’m always learning new things on my instruments, which means I don’t know everything. But I promise that I can keep you on a continual learning path and keep your head full of new ideas and things to try.
My Specialties
I mostly teach Folk, Rock and Fingerstyle guitar, but have also taught some Jazz and Bluegrass fundamentals. I have taught classes in Singing/Songwriting, finger picking, flatpicking, and improvisation.

Get In The Band

"Whether you're a beginner or an accomplished guitar player looking to up his game, Tom is the one you should call. I know from experience that he has the skills and the patience to help any player take it to the next level. His love of the guitar is such that one can feel his enthusiasm and his passion to pass his skills on to any player willing to be attentive and willing to practice. "

Bill A.

"I highly recommend Tom for guitar students of all ages. I began learning with him when I was 30 years old. He was patient and the lessons involved a great balance of music theory with an emphasis on playing songs from the very beginning.

Carl L.

"I started taking electric guitar lessons from Tom when I was 16. I've been into Alternative and Indie music. Tom helped me find guitar pedals for the right sound and showed me chords and leads so I could do it on my own. He's pretty cool."

JTS

"I’m a music therapist who works with developmentally disabled kids. Tom volunteered to help teach guitar to the more advanced kids. He was patient, kind, and encouraging. The kids loved him and he helped me a lot!"

Jennie S.

“I have a weekly guitar jam with a couple of guys. There were too many guitars so bought a used mandolin to get a different sound. Tom taught me basic chords, scales, and techniques so I could play in the jam without embarrassing myself. He taught me a few new guitar licks, too.”
