What Do You Look For in a Guitar Instructor?

The trick to getting a good guitar teacher is to find someone who is aligned with the way you learn. Working together, we can uncover your ideal learning style which will ultimately accelerate your learning, solidify your competence, and make our time together more fun. I found out that when I teach music, I become a better musician. You become a better musician, too. It’s a win-win!

I can also teach mandolin, bouzouki, and bass for beginning and intermediate players.

What You’ll Learn

Using a blend of experiential learning and a dash of theory, we will figure songs out together. And then, you’ll be doing it on your own.

I can teach you:

  • acoustic guitar
  • rhythm guitar
  • electric guitar
  • lead guitar
  • finger picking
  • strumming
  • songwriting tips and tricks
  • stage presence

Do you want to perform?

If you want to be on stage, presentation matters. I can help you with your stage presence and help you share your authentic self with an audience. This includes stage patter, controlling nerves, and other tips such as how to work with a soundman and essential equipment to bring.

I can also teach you the windmill, the snarl, and glam rocker, the cool jazzie, and the sensitive folk singer.

Singing & Songwriting

If you want to write a song and sing it too, it can sometimes be a daunting task. I have years of experience in songcraft and would be happy to help give you tools to create your own melodies and words to go with them. We can do song analysis of your favorite writers and I can introduce you to some artists that are considered the best in their class.
